With 2019 fast approaching I thought it might be a bit of fun to start this thread. Here are my highlights for this year:

Grain Tower Battery paddle
Medway Forts paddle
Blackwater tour
Old Felixstowe/Shingle Street paddle
Tryweryn trip (Despite the swims!)
Club BBQ
River Medway paddle

PLUS getting my Lee Valley assessment sorted, learning lots of new skills via the club's coaches and welcoming several new members to the club 🙂

How about the rest of you?

Hi Mike,

My highlights for this year are as follows:

1. Finding Bramston Canoe Club.
2. Joining Bramston Canoe Club.
3. Meeting a great group of very friendly and helpful kayakers!
4. Enjoying a chat at the pub after the pool session each week.
5. Learning lots of new skills (and hopefully not asking too many questions!).
6. Being made to feel welcome right from the get go.
7. Learning how to carry out a 'wet exit'.
8. Learning how to not need to carry out a 'wet exit' by getting rescued.
9. Learning how to not need to carry out a 'wet exit' by using 'gorilla arms' and putting in a well timed 'low brace'.
10. Hearing about all the great kayaking stories from the amazing trips you go on.
11. Starting to learn the basic skills required to be able to roll.

Here's to a fantastic 2019, and hopefully making my first roll!

Happy New Year All!
