Sunday 10th July 2022, 8 club members with family members set off from Byron’s Pool LNR for a paddle into Cambridge via the famous ‘Backs’. Setting off on one of the hottest days of the year we paddled down river via Grantchester Meadows before arriving in Cambridge and paddling through the historic centre via the ‘backs’. There was some amazing scenery and architecture to be appreciated before our stop at Jesus Green for a picnic and ice cream. Paddling back there was a stop at the drinks punt for a freshly made Pimms and a game of dodge the swimmer/punt/paddle boarder before arriving back at the start. A lovely day enjoyed by all.
