Sea trip up the R. Stour to(wards) Mistley starting from Shotley Bristol Hill, Shotley Gate, Ipswich IP9 1PU.

There is parking opposite the pub. Failing that there is parking at Shotley Gate, Ipswich IP9 1QJ.

Tides HW 11:55 at Harwich, HW Mistley 12:20, HW Ipswich 12:15. Its a new moon so coming up on springs! This is obviously weather and wind dependent.

Plan A R. Stour Shotley to(wards) Mistley

Plan B R. Orwell Shotley to(wards) Ipswich.

Lets be on the water for 10:00 thats in our boat and floating. I’m opting for the slightly shorter route from Shotley because it might be cold and the weather not too accommodating. Bring suitable clothing, food and drink.

These details will be put onto a form and emailed to you for you to give to your NOK. They will also be sent to the LSO (landside safety officer).

Please ensure you have some form of medical emergency card on you. You can download a form from this website. If you can’t laminate it, put it in a plastic bag to make it water proof – this will only be opened in an emergency. The leaders of the trip don’t need your medical history, but need to be made aware of any medical condition you may have and that you are carrying your medication. (such as heart condition, asthma, epilepsy, allergies to insect bites and stings, diabetes).
