This trip had been on the cards for a long time; to take open boats around the back waters of Walton on Naze, normally the realm of sea kayaks because of the open sea crossing. Kevin R and myself set off from Harwich and returned several hours later with big smiles. We had easterly winds steady F3.
This was such a lot of fun. Easy paddle out, bit of a slog against the wind to our lunch stop. Thick fog when we set off for home, but under sail we soon made sight of land, then it was a case of paddling and sailing back home.
