This trip is to a) complete a bit more of the coast line and b) help with 4 star leadership training. Club members are welcome to come along provided they have demonstrated a decent level of sea paddling skills.
Notes 1. This trip is not suitable for short boats. Not sure of you ability – ask. Aprox distance to be covered 18 miles (12 miles if leaving from Mersea)
2. from Bradwell to Mersea 3 miles open sea crossing. From Mersea to Colne point 4.5 miles open sea crossing. Colne Point to Hutley Beach 1.5 miles. There are beaches along this stretch to land on however the waves dump on these in certain conditions.
Meet Bradwell 11:00 for 11:30 on the water. (google map ref PVMP+MP Southminster) (18 mile round trip aprox)
Meet Mersea Island Esplanade (https://goo.gl/maps/mMajihyy1hm7kWUg6 google map ref QWFH+J9 Colchester) 11:30 on the water for 12:00 (12 mile round trip aprox) joining up with the Bradwell paddlers. Catch tide (note wind against tide so a bit choppy) to Hutleys Beach for a late lunch.
