Water level was just on the ledge so better than last trip! Phil’s second white-water river “this was absolutely brilliant” even with the swimming! Especially in the spin dryer after being advised to go river left. Barry also went swimming but evidently it was only once? Something about a rock on triple falls and “target fixation” The surf waves were all good if not easy to stay on eh Steve? And only 1 set paddles got damaged, I’m sure it was the same make as the last set to fall apart! Also on Saturday the three girls went to Kingsbridge with the plan of paddling to Salcombe, but plans never work! Especially if Cars are involved so after a lot of noises and a road side visit from a mechanic the paddle was delayed and plans altered Trudy has now called her boat “the Ballerina” due to it’s love of graceful pirouettes, a bird sanctuary was disturbed by gunshots at the paddlers or the birds we will never know, even though the tide was going out, a paddle back upstream was the only option, so cold tired and hungry all three enjoyed a free skin treatment of Kingsbridge “MUD GLORIOUS MUD” The food in the local was good with “perfect puds” but also a beer thief. I wonder who that was? Sunday ended up being a paddle on the “Pooh stick” river and great fun was had by all although late starting Steve was left quivering and shaking all alone at the get out in total darkness. The alternative trip from Totnes to Dartmouth was a great paddle with great company also some seals who were fascinated by this strange mixed group of kayaks, every one a different shape and colour. Not off the water until 5 but a great day by all accounts. S
